Books!!
So i love Amazon.ca
you can find pretty much ANYTHING on it. I've been thinking about trying my hand at quilting and tried to find some more modern quilts. I'm not very 'country' oriented when it comes to style. But there's just something about a homemade quilt that screams comfort!
So... I found 3 quilting books and there are a few quilts that I may give my hand a go at in between all my other projects that I have planned!
and something that isn't quilting oriented because i LOVE bags and I'm currently working on sewing one for myself (yayy)

Reupholstering - Part 2
So... previously, I showed you my great grandmother's lovely chair and this suppppper pretty fabric that I picked out to reupholster it with. I'm still totally in love with it!!!
I'm totally excited with how it turned out as well!
Dad found a great deal on a power electric stapler, because there is no way that I would have had enough pressure to squeeze the trigger on a staple gun enough times to get this chair done.
So yayyy thank you dad for picking it up on kijiji!
-le gasp- so pretty even in this messy state!
The back is done, as are the arms in this shot.
Just working on the corners and making sure i get the cuts and tucks done properly.
The finished product!!!
Now i'm not a fan of the work that goes into reupholstering, I definitely couldn't do it day in and day out for a living, so kudo's to those who do as a profession!
But I am rather proud of the way this turned out. I would definitely reupholster other furniture in the future if it's going to save me an arm and a leg in cost!
Let me know what you think!

Reupholstering
My great grandmother left me a chair of hers, and while the lines of the chair are absolutely beautiful. I've never been a huge fan of the fabric that's on it. So I decided to reupholster it.
I headed off to Fabricland because they had a 50% off sale this weekend, and perhaps purchased a little bit too much fabric lol I seem to always second guess my decisions.
I probably only needed 1 yard of fabric and purchased 2 so I guess I'll be making some pillows out of the excess fabric lol.
Oma's chair.
Here is the chair stripped down to the bones.
And the fabric laid out, using the old fabric as a template.
Once the upholstery is completed I'll show more pictures!
I still need to purchase some trim, but haven't decided on cream, light green or dark green.
We'll see what the store has for me! Stay Tuned!
